Carbodylab started promoting its buisness in central Florida around January of 2020. To date, we have not found this company on Florida Sunbiz or any listings for a Motor Vehicle license in the state. Here are some things you should look into:
No Reviews? They do not have any listings in the state where customers can leave reviews. No Google Maps, No Yelp, No Nothing, its like they are a ghost. If its such a great company, why can't customers leave reviews?
They do not perform Paintless Dent Repair, they paint your car, in your driveway. Getting a perfect color match is very difficult in a clean room environment of a professional bodyshop, its impossible in your driveway.
Water Based Paint. Large bodyshops use oil based paints which are harmful to humans if inhaled. This is part of the reason they have large paint booths and air cleaners. Carbodylab must use water based paints and products outside, in the open public air, this is assuming they are following state laws. Water based paints on cars, simply do not look as brilliant and do not last as long, especially in the unforgiving heat of the Florida sun.
No Carfax For A Repaint? They don’t generate Carfax’s. You may not want a Carfax that will hurt the value of your vehicle by repainting. However, if you get something painted and you don’t have a Carfax, a simple depth gauge will pick it up. In most cases, if you paint your vehicle outside, with a water based paint, you will have trouble selling your vehicle to a dealership or auction. In many cases it will be required that the vehicle be repainted in that area by an certified bodyshop, and placed on Carfax. This is to ensure customer safety when buying a vehicle.
They are a fly-by-night company. Running in a grey area, as long as they can get away with it, before they get caught. I have seen many of their after repairs and upset customers who have no recourse.
Tommyboy Warrantee. They don’t have a valid warrantee, at least nothing like anything your going to find in a reputable bodyshop or Paintless Dent Repair company. Make sure, you get the warrantee in black and white, before proceeding with a repair. However, it may not be worth the paper its written on.
Understand that if you get your vehicle painted in this way, you are getting what you pay for. In some cases, it may be absolutely perfect. If you have a 1995 Nissan Pickup that has no value, other than sentimental value, it may be a perfect candidate for a cheap repaint, although it may not last that long.
In the end, since there is no record of this company, other than a small local bodyshop in California and the multitude of complaints that we have received about the work, with no recourse from the customers online, we ask that you take caution, this looks like a scam.
