Every tech we talk to says some version of the same thing: they'd move, but they've got years of customers and invoices sitting in the app they're on now, and starting from an empty screen isn't worth it. That's a fair objection. Losing your history is a real cost, and nobody should have to eat it to try something better.
Open Settings → Backup and you'll find a section with Mobile Tech RX's name on it and two buttons: Client list and Invoices & estimates. Export either one out of MTRX as a CSV, pick the file, and it lands.
Your clients arrive as customers — names, phones, emails, addresses, categories. Your invoices arrive as job history with the real totals, the tax and discounts, who did the work, and whether the money came in. A closed, fully-paid invoice shows up already marked paid, so your income numbers start out true instead of needing a weekend of catch-up typing.
Import the same file twice by accident and nothing doubles. Invoices you've already brought over are recognised and skipped — which matters, because the fastest way to ruin a fresh start is to end up with two of everything.
Other tools are coming. Each one gets its own clearly-labelled section, so you're never guessing whether your file will work. If you're moving from something we don't list yet, send us a sample export and we'll add it.
You send an estimate. Days later the customer books. You pull up the appointment on the way there and it says $0 — so you're sitting in the driveway scrolling months of text messages to find what you told them.
That's fixed. An appointment booked from an estimate now shows that estimate's number right on the appointment, with a tap straight through to the full breakdown. Older appointments get it too: if the appointment itself has no price, the app finds the customer's estimate and shows that instead, labelled so you know where it came from.
Customers have always told us which they wanted when they booked. The app just never passed it along. Now every appointment says it plainly — blue for mobile service, you go to them, orange for drop-off, they come to you — right under the customer's name.
It's a small line of text that prevents a completely wasted morning.
Every booking is now written into a separate record the moment it arrives, kept apart from your schedule. Each morning we compare that record against your actual appointments, and if anything booked doesn't have an appointment to match it, you get an email with the customer's name, number and time — while there's still a day to call them.
You shouldn't need a safety net like this. But a booking is somebody planning their week around you, and "probably fine" isn't good enough when the cost of being wrong is a customer standing in a parking lot.
Faster, steadier saves. The app used to rewrite its entire local database every time you changed one estimate. Now each part saves on its own — less work, less memory, and far less that can go wrong on a busy phone with years of jobs on it.
It tells us when something's off. If a save ever fails or your data outgrows what a phone should hold comfortably, we hear about it automatically — before it becomes your problem.
Deleting an appointment asks first on Android, the way it always has on iPhone.
Version 2.8 (Android 1.5) is on its way to the App Store and Google Play — update when it lands. Then set aside ten minutes, export your data out of Mobile Tech RX, and bring it over.
